Cookie Policy

How RookImg uses cookies

Cookies help RookImg work, remember your preferences and serve ads. Here is exactly what we use and how to control it.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember preferences and to measure or personalize advertising.

RookImg also uses your browser's local storage for similar purposes. This policy covers both cookies and local storage.

Essential cookies and local storage

These are required for the service to function and cannot be switched off. They include sign-in session cookies (via Supabase Auth) and local storage for app preferences such as theme and onboarding state.

We also store your analytics/advertising consent choice in local storage under "rookimg.analytics-consent.v1" so the banner is not shown again.

Analytics cookies

With your consent, RookImg may use privacy-friendly analytics (Google Analytics and PostHog) to understand how the site is used. These tools may set cookies to count visits and track aggregate page usage.

Analytics events record things like page views and tool usage. They never contain your uploaded images or file content.

Advertising cookies

RookImg is funded by advertising. We may show ads served by Google AdSense, which uses cookies to make ads more relevant, to cap how often you see an ad and to measure ad performance.

Google and its partners may use these advertising cookies (for example cookies named NID, AID, DSID or similar) to build a profile of your interests based on sites you visit.

These advertising cookies are only used if you accept advertising in the consent banner.

Managing cookies

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clearing the "rookimg.analytics-consent.v1" entry in your browser's site data, which will show the consent banner again.

You can also control cookies from your browser settings, disable personalized ads via Google's Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com), and opt out of third-party cookies at youronlinechoices.eu.

Blocking essential cookies may stop sign-in and preferences from working correctly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this cookie policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the date at the bottom of this page.

See also the Privacy Policy for how we handle your images and data.
