Privacy-first by design

Our core privacy rule

RookImg is an online image tools suite. The core rule is simple: images are uploaded only to power the tool you are using, processed for that single request, and deleted immediately afterward.

Files are held in memory during processing and are never written to permanent storage, sold or shared with third parties. We do not build datasets from your images.

How image processing works

When you use a tool such as convert, compress, resize, crop, watermark, filters, PDF or OCR, your file is sent securely to RookImg's servers and processed with established libraries (Sharp, Tesseract.js, pdf-lib and others).

The Color Picker tool is the only exception: it reads pixel data directly in your browser, so the image never leaves your device for that tool.

After processing, the result is streamed back to your browser for download and the original upload is discarded.

What we collect

With your consent, RookImg may collect anonymous, aggregated analytics (page views and tool usage) through privacy-friendly analytics providers to understand how the product is used. These events never contain your image content.

If you sign in, we store the account identifiers required for authentication (for example, your Google profile name and email if you use Google sign-in).

We do not collect favorites or bookmarks. Your local tools, history and downloads stay on your own device.

We do not store, analyze or retain the images you upload beyond the processing request.

Cookies and advertising

RookImg is funded by advertising. We may show ads served by Google AdSense, and Google and its partners may use cookies to serve and measure ads based on prior visits to this or other websites.

On your first visit we show a consent banner where you can accept or decline non-essential analytics and advertising cookies.

You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time by visiting Google's Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com) or the EU user consent platform (youronlinechoices.eu).

Essential cookies needed for sign-in and app preferences may be set regardless of your consent choice.

Your account and its data

Signing in is optional. In Guest Mode, every tool works without an account and nothing is associated with your identity.

If you sign in, the account data we store (display name, email and avatar from your Google account) is held by our authentication provider, Supabase. It is stored separately from image processing and is never mixed with your files.

You can sign out at any time from Settings and clear your local site data in your browser. To have your account data removed, email the address below. Downloaded files on your own device are unaffected.

Children's privacy

RookImg is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us so we can remove it.

Your rights (GDPR & CCPA)

If you are in the EU/EEA, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict processing. If you are a California resident, the CCPA grants you similar rights of access and deletion.

To exercise any of these rights, email the address below and we will respond within the timeframe required by law.

Data security

All traffic to RookImg is encrypted with HTTPS. Processing happens in memory on secure infrastructure, and uploaded files are deleted immediately after each request.

We review access to production infrastructure and keep dependencies patched. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we design for minimal data collection and minimal retention.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the bottom of this page. Continued use of RookImg after changes means you accept the updated policy.
