Question 1

What is RookImg?

Accepted Answer

RookImg is a free online suite of 24 image tools. You can convert, compress, resize, crop, watermark, filter, OCR and more — all from your browser, with no software to install.

Question 2

Is RookImg free to use?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All 24 core image tools are free and work without signing in. Optional account features are free too.

Question 3

Does RookImg upload my images?

Accepted Answer

Your images are sent to RookImg's servers only to power the tool you are using, then deleted immediately afterward. They are never stored, sold or shared.

Question 4

Where does the image processing happen?

Accepted Answer

Processing runs securely on RookImg's servers using fast, well-tested libraries. The only exception is Color Picker, which reads pixel data directly in your browser.

Question 5

How long are my files kept on the server?

Accepted Answer

Only as long as it takes to process the single request. Files are held in memory, never written to disk storage, and deleted as soon as the result is ready.

Question 6

Why does RookImg ask me to sign in?

Accepted Answer

An account is only used for authentication. Signing in unlocks the dashboard and downloads manager. It is never used to store or access your images.

Question 7

Can I use RookImg without signing in?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Guest Mode lets you use every RookImg image tool without creating an account. Signing in is optional and adds account features such as the dashboard and downloads manager.

Question 8

Which image formats does RookImg support?

Accepted Answer

JPG, PNG, WEBP, HEIC and PDF. You can convert between JPG, PNG and WEBP, convert HEIC photos to JPG, and combine images into or extract images from PDF files.

Question 9

What is the maximum file size?

Accepted Answer

The combined upload budget is 4 MB, with a little space reserved for request data. Some image tools can reduce large JPG, PNG or WEBP files in your browser before uploading, which may reduce dimensions and quality. PDF, HEIC and metadata inspection need smaller original files. For multiple images, the budget is shared across the batch.

Question 10

Does RookImg work on mobile?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The interface is mobile-ready with touch-friendly controls, compact cards and bottom navigation, so the core tools work on any screen size.

Question 11

Which browsers do I need?

Accepted Answer

RookImg uses modern browser APIs such as File, Blob, ArrayBuffer and local downloads. Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox are recommended.

Question 12

Is pricing available?

Accepted Answer

All core image tools are free to use. You do not need a subscription or payment card to process and download your images.
